3rd Christmas Blog

We then went to Grandma and Granddaddy Batten's house for lunch on Christmas morning. This visit really brought out the true meaning of Christmas. Grandaddy was home from the hospital after we thought we would never see him again. He was telling stories of the night when we thought we lost him in the hosptial, that he saw heaven and that angels were carrying him up to the most beautiful peaceful blue earth. He could not see the angels faces, but they were beside him. He got so close, but God wanted him here on this earth... and he woke up back in the hospital. Amazing!

Here is Grandma Batten and me.

Grandaddy Batten and Braxton.

Grandaddy Batten, Joseph and I and all his Great Grandchildren!

This was the sweetest letter that I have ever heard. Joseph wrote a heartfelt letter to Grandaddy and read it to him in front of the whole family. It brought everyone to tears... and Joseph could not hardly finish it. Joseph was given a second chance to tell Grandaddy how much he loved him and admired him, and he really told him how he felt from the bottom of his heart! Such a sweet moment... and especially at Christmas!

It really brought out the true meaning of Christmas... FAMILY!

2nd Christmas Blog

After Scott's grandmother' s house, we traveled 2 hours home and didn't get home until after 10:00 pm. Santa Claus had to come visit after that and he didn't get to bed until after 12:00pm. Long day... but so worth it for the family and kids!

When the kids woke up, they had a blast!! Braxton was just as exicted as Sawyer! He was waving his hands everywhere and squealing. He went right up to Thomas the train and acted like Godzilla. He picked it up and shook the train and the tracks until it broke loose. (See pictures above)

Here is Braxton after one of his many falls... he fell out of the wagon we gave him, the ball pit, and the ride along Thomas the train. I was just hoping he didn't have brain injury on Christmas morning!

Here is Scott playing with the boys in the ball pit!

1st Christmas Blog

I don't know how to put more pictures on a blog then this, so I am going to do a few blogs.

Tuesday night we traveled up to Little Washington to stay with Brandy, Jimmy and Scott's parents to do Christmas with them! We got there late, but the kids were ready and excited for Christmas, so it was okay. When we got there, we ate yummy pork chops that Tommy had cooked! We then proceeded to open gifts...

Here is Jackson getting ready to get one of his gifts...

Reagan and Sawyer loving on Grandpa... sorry Grandma, you were handing out gifts!

Here is Reagan and Sawyer loving on each other. Sawyer in his big boy underpants... that he was so excited to get that he put on two pair, Thomas the train and Lighting McQueen.. but I don't think it will be a while before he wears them without diapers!! I am giving up until he is 3! Reagan is in her sweet Tinkerbell outfit. I bought that for her.. and I am promise, I was so excited about shopping for a little girl!

Sawyer's behind with his Lighting McQueen underware Brandy gave him.

Thank you Brandy, Jimmy, Grandma, and Grandpa for having us at the house, for feeding us, and for all the wonderful gifts! We always enjoy being with ya'll and we love you so much!!!

Wendsday, we then proceeded to go to Scott's Grandmother's house. It was the first time that his whole family was together in about 3 years!! There were 37 people in one small house. We counted up all the children on the way home...

Scott's Grandmother has:
4 Children
7 Grandchildren
and get this...

13 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN!!!

New Camera Lens

I got a new camera lens for Christmas... and I was so excited about it. Photography is my passion as most of you know. Scott got me the best present in the world. So of course, since I have this new lens, I am taking pictures of everything!

Here is one of Braxton eating... (above)

Here is one of Sawyer not wanting his picture taken... like always! NO PICTURE MOMMY. Worst nightmare for a mom who worships the camera.

But last night, I decided I wanted to take some pictures with the boys walking down the path. I wanted to just play around and see what I came up with. So we got on the golfcart... rode around the farm looking at the cows and looking for deer... and when the sky became a really pretty color, I drove back to the rode and let them off.

Well here is what happened. They didn't stay together at all... Sawyer fell down the hill, Braxton tumbled over trying to go down the hill after Sawyer, they were trying to play in cow turds, I was chasing after them, not getting any pictures, and my flash was not working. So I looked down to try and fix my camera, and when I looked up, Braxton had found a puddle. Well, of course Sawyer ran over there and started spashing around too! I just gave up and let them play! BOYS will be BOYS!!!

Yep, nasty!!!

And the bad thing was, I was wearing white pants! They are now in the washer and I am hoping that the mud will come out!

Christmas Show

Sawyer had his Christmas show tonight at Daycare. I told him to sing loud, and here he is attempting to sing!! He was kinda tucked away behind the crowd, but he did really well!

They sang Jingle bells and Jesus loves me this I know. The only time I really heard Sawyer was when he yelled MOMMY really loud! Here he is grinning because his mother is laying on the floor taking pictures of her son! Oh no, I have become that mom already. My son is the best one up there... I will do whatever it takes to get a good picture of him!
*Also, the little boy in front of Sawyer.... that is his little twin at daycare... and his friend! *

Thank you Grandaddy Joe and Jo-Jo for coming to see Sawyer! Although we waited longer then the program was, it was awesome to see Sawyer up there singing and smiling!!!

Now, the after party was not so much fun! Granddaddy Joe and us went to Lone Star afterwards... let's just put it this way.... loud, food everywhere, and figgity youngens! LOUD being the key word... especially for Braxton! I know Grandaddy Joe was ready for some quiet time!

Lights of the Neuse

We were getting ready to go see the Lights of the Neuse Sunday night for family time... and we went way to late!

Scott said Sawyer looked like he was white trash dressed like he was.... boots that were 3 sizes to big, nothing matching.... BUT he was warm!

Braxton was just not going for the idea of getting all bundled up. He felt a little clastraphopic.... and I think he was tired too... since we left PAST his bedtime! He threw a few tandrems before we left... and while we waited in line for AN HOUR!!!! Wheww... good thing they had some good lights for the kids to watch when we finially got on the hay ride! That was a tough hour waiting in the cold!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

PS. And then I woke up to Sawyer throwing up all over the place this morning... YUCK!

Proof that all you need for Christmas...

Is a box!!!

Michelle and Craig Eudy came over last night to give the boys their Christmas gifts! (so sweet by the way). But when the left, Braxton got the box we had put to the side and he was climbing in the side of the hole and was laying down in the box. By the time I ran to get the camera, he had popped up like this. Not as funny of a picture... but proof that out of all the money you spend... the box is all they want! And maybe a bow!

Turkey Leg

Scott fixed a yummy fried Turkey yesterday for lunch. It was so good! He brought it in for us to eat that night as well, and we were picking at it like vultures, when Sawyer just picked up the turkey leg and started Nawing away! This was not staged or anything, there were lots of pulled turkey pieces in the pan, but Sawyer wanted the biggest piece he could find.

But at least he is so sweet and he shared with daddy....

and he even offered some to me!

My dinner! The turkey leg.

Jo-Jo and Santa Claus

Jo-Jo invited me (Sawyer), Braxton, Parker and Dalton to go see Santa at the Chamber of Commerce tonight. I wasn't very excited. In fact, I told mama numerous times that I did not want to see Santa, even though she really was trying to convince me that he is nice. I just don't think he is that nice. He watches me while I am sleeping... what kind of creepy guy can do that?? And he is fat and hides half his face with a big white beard. He scares me! I was also really scared the past two nights because I saw Santa Claus go up my stairs after he saw all the kids at the Hardee Party, and I was scared he was still in my room! Mama had to come upstairs and turn on the light, hug me and cuddle with me and show me that there wasn't anything up here. She said that Santa had gotten on the roof with his reindeer and flew back to the north pole. I do like the fact that he is going to bring me some toys though. That part of him is really cool!

So anyway, back to my story. Jo-Jo invited all us boys to go take a picture and tell Santa what we wanted. I was really scared at first, but I didn't scream like the other times I saw him. I still didn't want to go near him, but Jo-Jo let me sit on her lap just so we could get a picture NEAR him. I wasn't going to sit on that man's lap! Parker and Dalton were really brave. Dalton and Parker then told Santa what they wanted and I actually got pretty dag on close to him to tell him I wanted "Lighting McQueen." I even gave him a HIGH FIVE! Yep, I touch him. He was not so bad. He even gave all of us a candy cane. Thank you Jo-Jo for inviting us, you are the BEST!!! We had fun! And I really like the candy cane!!

Afterwards Jo-Jo read me some really great books and put me to bed so mama could pick up the house and put Brax Brax to sleep. She is the best book reader in the whole world. (Sorry mom, she is pretty cool!)

Love, Sawyer

Here are my best friends! I asked where Lisa went when we got in the car from seeing Santa... and mama told me she was at home with Dalton and Parker. i told her I wanted to go see Parker. He was my best friend! But she said I had to go to bed. Mommy is such a drag sometimes.
