Family... there is nothing like it!

I am sorry I have not had time to blog lately, but one thing I just wanted to say is how much I love my family. My three nephews, Dalton, Parker, Jackson and my niece Reagan, are just a blessing in my life. I would have never guess how much I could love them! And Sawyer and Braxton have so much fun with them!

It will be really neat to see them grow up together.

Well off to the beach we go, down there to see Reagan, Jackson, Brandy, Jimmy and Grandma and Grandpa!!!

PS Sawyer is much much better!!! I will blog on the horrible week later!!! I just don't wish anyone's 2 year old to have his tonsils taken out.. unless they have hired help to help!!!!!!!

When will I get my Sawyer back???

I have always disiplined my children, (not a child beater for all those who think displine is beating... :-) ), and I have been fornuate that Sawyer (not sure how Braxton is going to be yet) has listened to his mommy and daddy really well. BUT, after this surgery, I think I am going to have to start all over again. He is getting WHATEVER he want. What do you ask? Well, popsicles, cookies, apple juice with no water in it, milk shakes, and chocolate pop tarts for breakfast. Yep, WHATEVER he wants. But you see there is a reason why this is happening. He screams and cries every 3 1/2 hours (even though the night) because he hurts so bad. When you hold a child that is slobbering all over your shoulder and hair like a cow because he is crying so hard and hurting so much that he won't even swallow his own spit, then you will give them whatever they want!!! BUT, as I was talking with my mother (Jo-Jo to the kids... or DOo-DOO, What Sawyer calls her), it seems like all the displine I have done for 2 years is going to be wiped out forever!!! OH NO, 1 week of spoiling, can wipe out all of what Scott and I have done over the past 2 years! CRAZY! Well, anyway, I just hope to get my sweet little toddler back soon!

Then we can get back to the potty training... fun, huh??? (See pic above) And we can get back to him hitting his little brother in the head with tractors and skid steers!

As for Braxton, he is just as happy and loud as can be!! His personality is really starting to come out now. I didn't think he would be as active as Sawyer, but it is very possible with the way he is acting the last few weeks!! I know it seems as though I have not been documenting as much about Braxton, but I have been consumed with Sawyer this week. More of Braxton to come!

Why it is so wonderful being a mother of boys....

Well, I just started this thing, and I think I am already becoming addicted. It is allowing me to use my creative side of my brain, instead of the mommy side of my brain. You know, that side... where you forget where you put things, and they are right in front on your face, or the only words that are in your vocabulary is "NO, NO, NO" .

So here I am, telling everyone my story of how life is with 2 little boys. First of all, let me describe my boys. Sawyer is a typical 2 year old, tandrems here and there, but overall he is a very sweet little boy. He loves to give kisses and "two handed loves". (that is two arms around the neck... then you squeeze!) He is very active and doesn't watch and ounce of TV.. except for baseball! I know, who would have ever guess a 2 year old would rather watch baseball then Micky Mouse. BUT, maybe that is a sign for things to come... multi-millionare baseball player that will pay off all mommy's and daddy's debt one day. I know... BUT, at least I believe in my boys!!

Braxton on the other hand is very hard headed and dramatic! If I never have a girl, he has the drama thing down pat at only 9 months old! He is so dag on sweet though. He loves his mama more than anything in the world. That is one thing that I never had with Sawyer. He has always been a mans man. So it is nice to see that mommy's boy that everyone talks about. He would give me a million open mouth kisses, if I let him, in a row. Except a couple times he has bit my lip unexpectantly, and so I had to put a limit on how many kisses he gives me now since he might surprise me with a BITE!

But, I guess the real reason I am blogging is to say how much I love being a mother of boys. This may not sound so great to some of you, but I promise it really is wonderful! (to me at least).

There is nothing better then to watch your boys, fish with their dad and then sink deep in the mud and get covered with nasty dirt goop, and cry that they are sinking in "Doo-doo!" Now that is funny! Or watch him kiss a fish on the lips and then be scared of it the next instant! Or when your baby boy tries to grab the fish so that it could possibly be the next object in his mouth! :-)

There is also nothing better then the pitter patter of little feet on the floor, OR the 4 legged crawling creature pitter patter on the floor at well. (that would be BRAXTON if you haven't guess that yet).

There is nothing better then to hear your son yell, "LOOOOKKK Mommy" from his car seat, and you look... and I'll be darn if there is not a sucker stuck to his cheek!!! And he is grinning from ear to ear, proud as can be! Or he says "LOOK mommy" and he is holding his little brother's hand while Braxton is laughing at his big brother for being so cool!

Or again when you hear your son say, "LOOOOOKKK Mommy" in that proud voice in the house and go see what he is talking about, and he has your keys sticking out of the OUTLET! OHHH MY! That was when the mommy brain came out and said "NO, NO, NO". (NOPE, I have not child proofed the new house yet if you havne't guessed).

Or when your baby boy, screams to get your attention and then he grins in delight showing those two little bottom teeth! And then plays patty cake with his hands backwards!

Or when me and Scott are play wrestling and Sawyer comes to Mommy's rescue and says "NO DADDY". Yep, being the only girl has it upsides!

Or when you give them a bath and you come out cleaner then them because they splashed you so much! Then when the water goes down the drain and there is a dirt ring around the tub from them getting so dirty during the day!

And last but not least, when your baby boys, at the end of the day cuddle up to their mommy and say their prayers and go to sleep on you, or give you a kiss through their crib slat. That is the most wonderful moment of motherhood!

A two year old in the hospital....

Well, on Tuesday, we had to have Sawyer (our 2 year old) tonsils and adneiods taken out. I was so scared and nervous, and when you see two nurses take your two year old off to the "place of the unknown", it will make tears come to your eyes. But, Sawyer was braver then mommy and went right to the nurses and didn't even look back at me or Scott. Then the waiting begins... well, after only 25 minutes of waiting, the Doctor comes out... and says the surgery went really well. He said his tonsils were huge and "engrossly" infected. YUCK! But at least the surgery was over and all I wanted to see was my little boy!

Then the challenge begins. All of you with children can relate to this. Imagine having to stay overnight with a 2 year old in the hospital. Okay, got that? Then add a IV and oxygen monitor hooked to them for 24 hours! And especially one that has never sat down and watched more than 5 minutes of TV at a time! Yep, it was an interesting night alright. After about 8 meltdowns, watching "Finding Nemo" for the 4th time and reading countless books... we decided that we would try LIGHTS OUT. Mommy is in bed with Sawyer and Daddy in the fold out chair. Not so comfortable for any of us. Sawyer is touching me in the face with his RED LIGHT on his finger (from the oxygen monitor, that JO-JO got him to be fasinated with), and finally when he dozed off to sleep the tossing, turning and snoring all began. I was up all night worried sick about the lines getting wrapped around his neck and then to add the fact that the nurses are in a out ALL night, every hour. Never fails huh?

Anyway, since my story seems to never end, I am going to make this a quick ending. We are home, doing well... except for the meltdowns that Sawyer has from still hurting and Braxton climbing up my leg crying because he isn't getting attention. But overall, things are "Kinda" getting back to normal.

Going to try the blog thing... but for how long????

Well, I told my sister in law, that I do not have time to do this. But, when I saw how cute her blog looked, I decided I would try. It is neat to be able to see and hear what my other friends and family daily lives consist of, and it makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one that gets stressed out over my kids, work and life in general.

But, if you know me, my kids are my everything! I don't know what I would do if I did not have them, OR my husband. I couldn't ask for a more complete, fullfilled life. God has blessed me with the most wonderful family, and I pray that he will continue to bless me the way he has my whole life.
