God's blessings...

God has honored my family with the most wonderful blessings that I could have ever asked for. He has given me two beautiful baby boys that are healthy, and a very dedicated father/husband. GOD has given me health and a wonderful family. God has given my kids 4 amazing grandparents that love them so much. Amazing is really not the word for who they are! Grandma and Grandpa are here for our entire family for anything. They help us clean the house for parties and they help me take care of the kids in any situation. They have helped us move in and out of both houses and paint and fix up our old house. They are amazing human beings that my kids are lucky to call their grandparents, and I am lucky to have as my second "parents." Grandaddy Joe has the biggest heart of anyone that has ever been placed on this earth. You can see in his eyes everytime he sees the kids that he is living for them. He is one of a kind and my kids love him so much! Jo-Jo is beautiful on the inside and out. She is my best friend. She not only was a great mother to my brother and I, but she is a wonderful grandmother. As much as she has on her plate she really tries to divide her time wisely between all the grandkids and my grandparents. She is so giving and respectable that I not only love her, but admire her. "A blessing down the road" is what I call her.

God has also given us 3 healthy nephews and 1 sweet healthy niece. I have 2 sister-in-laws that I wouldn't trade for the world. They have been more like sisters to me! Brandy has been a savior to me in many cases, when I need to vent, or ask her stupid medical questions because I think my boys are the sickess kids in the universe. She is so calm and an attentive and never makes me feel stupid for asking the same question over and over. I guess she is really realizing that Jimmy and I bring the looks to the family and not the brains (ha, ha... inside joke.) Brandy has honestly become one of my closest friends if not my closest! My only regret, is that we don't live closer so I can see her and Jackson and Reagan more. My other sister in law, on the other hand (LISA), does live right down the road. She is so sweet and everytime I see her with my boys, she always loves on them like they are her own. She always gives good advice but never is intrusive. She reminds me so much of my mom that it is scary! Again, I am blessed!

I have been blessed with a wonderful brother that has always been there for me! He is so hardworking and so dedicated to his family. I love to see him with all the boys playing because they just love him so much! Great dad and uncle!

LASTLY, God has blessed my family of 4, to be increased to a family of 5 in September! Yes, as most of you already know by now, we are expecting baby number 3!!

Some people told me to wait, that I was crazy to have 3 kids that close together... they will be 3, 1 1/2 and a newborn... and maybe I am. But I have always seen my life with 3 kids, and having them so close in age is going to be such an amazing thing to see as they grow older together. Yes, it will be tough... it is really tough now with 2 that close, but it is so worth it when you look in their eyes and they tell you how much they love you. And the best feeling I have ever felt is the love that I feel for my children. It is pure love, the love that God feels for us! It is protective love, the same love that God feels for us. You cannot go wrong with having another child to add to the mix.

Scott and I have been really lucky to have been blessed with no fertility issues. We had one misscarriage before all of our kids were born and since then we have been able to get pregnant whenever we wanted too. Before we decided together to have another child... (I had decided a long time ago I wanted another one, it just took a little while to convice Scott)... I prayed every night to God to only give us this beautiful child in my belly to us if and only if it was meant to be. I told him how much he had already done for our family and I was blessed and comfortable with what he has already given us. He answered my prayers pretty quickly and has made us aware that he does want us to have another baby. The one thing that I want to make sure to do for GOD, is to let everyone know that God does exist and he is here for you in anyway possible. Good or bad. He is our father, lord in heaven that has a plan and a path for each one of us. Since he has really done so much for my little family, I feel that it is the right thing to do to let as many people know that you can rely on him and have faith in him and always have him in your heart. I just hope I can teach my children to be good kids and to always have God in their hearts!

Thank you for reading this and please keep our family and this new baby in your prayers! It works! I will make sure to pray for you and your family as well!

Coolest car!

Grandaddy Joe brought us this cool new car last weekend and we have really enjoyed it. In fact, we fight over it! Mommy has to split up our time with who gets to sit in front because we BOTH want to drive!! When mommy takes Braxton out of the car, she has to uncurl his toes off of the metal bar of the windshield that he has a hold of so he doesn't have to get out of the car. She doesn't understand how he can get his toes wrapped around it so quick, but I guess he is like his daddy... part monkey! I (Sawyer) personally can manuever the car around the house so good that it doesn't touch any of the walls. Mommy is constantly saying... "Sawyer, watch out for the walls." Doesn't she understand that I am a master driver????

Thank you Granddaddy Joe for the coolest car in the universe!

Why working part time is not all it is cracked up too

Well, I have the best of both worlds, most of the time. I work part time, I love my job, I love being a mother.... but sometimes it is so hard to work part time and have children at home with you on your days OFF, and you have national mandatory teleconferences on your days OFF.

For example, I dial into the teleconference today at 4pm. I tried to time the naps around this, so I can have peace and quiet AND learn a little bit at the same time. But since Sawyer has the croup and he was up ALL night, he took a morning nap... and was UP for the teleconference.

I told him that I would play with him, until the teleconference started, then he would have to be really quiet.

Well this is what quiet involved. As I was waiting for the teleconference to start... the first words had not even been stated yet.

Sawyer- "MOMMY, (crying hysterically), my butt hurts."
Mommy- "WHAT???"
Sawyer- "My butt hurts mommy."

So I proceeded to look at his butt. the only thing I could come up with, was that he didn't want the "BABY" diaper that I had put on him, since he peed in his pull up's. so I rearranged the diaper and said, "All better."

Sawyer then ran off for about 5 seconds... the man on the teleconference started up on slide 3.... and then on slide 4...
Sawyer- "MOMMY (sceaming with sweat beads on his nose), my butt hurts."

So I proceeded to pick him up and pull his "BABY" diaper out to look at his butt... and what did I see????

STINKY, coming right straight out of you know where. OH MY GOODNESS! Cleaning it up is one thing... seeing it come out... GROSS!

I ran him to the potty, telling him that he is a big boy and he needed to stinky on the potty. Now the telephone is in the other room. I sat him down on the potty, ran back to get the phone.... SLIDE 13! Are you kidding me???? I missed that much!!!

So I then proceeded to listen to the teleconference sitting in the bathroom, while Sawyer whined about not wanted to stinky on the potty. I listened as good as I could, and I went back through the slides after the teleconference was over... but man, it is so hard to do both jobs (mother and real work) with little children that are so needy. Can you imagine if both of the kids would have been up????

Now I have to go through this all over, on Friday... but for 3 long hours! How am I going to survive??????

At least he was sleeping!

A 2 year old vs. Godzilla

Here is my sweet little 2 year old! He is now in the phase of lining up everything. I have seen a few blogs on here about their kids going through this, so you know how peculiar they can be over their toys, while they are playing with them, and especially after they have lined them up just perfectly. It is actually a great phase because they clean up so neat!! In fact, when my cousin Holly was keeping them Saturday night, I came home to a really neat toy box. I told her, WOW Holly, thanks for cleaning all that up so neat. She told me that it was all Sawyer's doing!!!!

Here is a picture of my sweet boys!!!

Here is a picture of GODZILLA!!! Once my 2 year old lines everything perfectly, here comes GODZILLA to destroy everything that stands in its path!!! Sawyer tries to get away from GODZILLA/BRAX BRAX, but where ever he goes the Destroyer is right behind him. I did find cars on the back of my bathtub all lined up yesterday, so he does have one place that is good to play.... FOR NOW!!!! Godzilla keeps growing up faster and faster, so it won't be long he will be able to go where ever Sawyer goes!

Scott's Memory

Most people see Scott as a good ole country boy who likes to fiddle in the shop and go hunting. But what most people do not know is how smart Scott is. Unless you are around him for long periods of time, you have no idea how his brain really works. His brain retains everything!!!

For example: Last night we were watching Tom and Jerry... the old cartoon show that we used to watch when we were all little. When the title would come up, Scott would tell me every little detail that Tom and Jerry would do... and when I mean every little detail, I mean, EXACTLY what was going to happen. And then I would watch it, and everything he said happened. I was in such shock that he could do that, all I said was... "I hope our kids get your memory and not mine."

From someone (ME) that can't even remember what I wore yesterday, literally, I am amazed about how smart he is.

He really is the jack of all trades! The only time he really watches TV is when it is something that is educational, something he can learn and then apply in real life. Although these shows get on my nerves sometimes, I like to see him sitting there watching them because I can tell he is taking it all in (his brain is soaking it all up) and then he applies it to things he does out in the shop, building a house, doing something around the house, or just in life gerneral.

He has watched this show, "This old House", since he was a young boy. He said, he has learned a lot about remodeling and has really applied a lot of what he had seen on the show to what he does with work. Also, he watches all those car remodeling shows... and again, he has learned how to completely build cars, take out an engine from one truck/jeep to another, put lift kits on ANYTHING, Fix anything there is with a truck/car, and completely take a Jeep Wagoner apart (I said he destroyed it). When I went out there to see what he had done to that Jeep Wagoner and I saw it was in a million pieces, and I mean a million.... I was in shock and asked him why he did that. He said, he had never took apart a jeep wagoner and wanted to see how it was put together and how it worked. ONLY SCOTT. Who wants to do that???? But he learned a lot from it.

Scott was also was a MARINE. He said he joined the Marines because they had the reputation of being the hardest unit out there. Well, not only did he join the MARINES, but the joined the re-con, which is one of the most prestigious force in the marines. He had to do the hardest thing there was, and make sure he was the best! And he WAS! I don't know enough about the military to explain everything he did, but I saw the papers that his officers wrote up on him and he their #1 guy in everything that he did! He was the best!

And, as you know Scott got his Contractor license a couple of years ago. Most people fail at least once or twice, sometimes 3 times before they ever pass. Well, Scott went to the class for a few days, and then I helped him study. Well he said he studied as hard as he had ever studied in his life. With anyone who really had to study in high school or college (Like me), I told him that if that was as hard as he had ever studied then he didn't know what studying was! I mean, he studied like 1/30th of what I had to study for the easy test! And the contractor test is a really HARD test! And he passed with a 96 or 98!!!! Unbelievable!!!

If you ask him anything to do with building a house, a commerical building, etc... I promise he could figure it out or tell you what to do or how to do it with every little detail. Sometimes he gets frustrated with other people because he tells them what to do, or tries to understand WHY they don't understand even though they may have done it in the past. I have to stop him and explain to him that not all people are as talented or as smart as him (LIKE ME) and some people FORGET if they don't do it on a regular basis (LIKE ME). Because it comes so easy to him, he forgets that it is not that easy for others. At least he has ME who can ground him... I am reminder to him everyday that NOT everyone is as smart as him! :-)

I wish I was better with words like some of you are (Angela), because I don't think I am really putting the words down the right way to explain how smart he is! But he is really the smartest person that I have ever been around... and it helps that he is HOT too! :-) I really admire him so much of what he has done and what he will do with his life. NOW, I just hope my boys get that part of him.... and not MY poor memory.

PS. He will never admit to any of you how smart he is... so don't even ask him!!!
PSS. I know I am bragging on my husband... but I promise all of this is true!
PSSS. Just to ground him though... he does get on my nerves sometimes!!!! :-)

All grown up

It all started when Scott and I got back from the beach this weekend. What? you ask. My little baby has turned into a little boy!

Scott and I left to go to the beach Thursday afternoon for my birthday. A little time for us, and for ME. I very rarely get a break from the boys, so this was a treat for me. Scott's parents so gratefully came up here to stay with them, and they will never know how appreciative I am of them keeping our kids. Number 1, because I needed a break. Number 2, because they don't get to see "Grandma" and "Grandpa" as much as I would like, and my KIDS looooooove them. In fact, the first thing Sawyer said Monday morning was when are Grandma and Grandpa going to come see me again. So sweet!

Anyway, when we left Thursday, Sawyer was just getting over the Croup, so he had been a little on the ill side. But when we got back Sunday, Scott and I were amazed at how much he had grown up, his vocabulary had grown, he was talking more like an adult, you can reason with him more like an adult, and he has started wanting to use the potty. I had given up on the potty thing, but now it is like BAM, he is more receptive of the whole idea of it. Everyone told me that it would happen like that... and so far it has. Not to brag on my child, but he pee-peed in the potty 5 times today! HUGE for him! Now the #2, we are going to have to work on that much more. But at least it has been a big step for us in the Lowe household.

But anyway, I really can't explain in words how much he has grown, but it is amazing. It is like his mind just develop overnight! I have never seen anything like it. In his 2 1/2 years of being here on this earth, I can honestly say that he has matured more over this past weekend then ever.

Scott and I both looked at each other and said, "He is growing up way to fast." But at the same time, it is so much fun to be able to communicate better with him and to see him grow into a little person. Bitter sweet is the phrase I would pick for the situation.

My sweet little baby is now my sweet little boy!
