Trying my best....

I am trying my best to treasure every moment of my children's life. I am trying my best to appreciate the fact that when they are crying uncontrollably, hanging on my legs, while I am trying to cook or get ready for work, that they are only doing that because they love me and they want me. I try and look at it from the future, if that makes sense. I try and think about in 5 years, i will be begging for them to come sit with me or give me a hug or give me kisses. I will miss the crying because they want to be held, or the pitter patter of little feet running away from me when I tell them that I need to change their diaper. I will miss the smirk on Sawyer's face after he has aggravated Braxton to the point to where Braxton is crying and I didn't see what he did... so I can't punish him. I will miss the fact that Sawyer talks every minute of every second. No silence! I will miss the fact that Braxton loves me to chase him around the house and falls down in a ball of laughter after I catch him! I will miss Braxton jumping around in his crib when I go get him up in the morning and he starts doing flips when he sees me! I will miss the whining every morning that Sawyer has started doing... whining about what shorts to wear, or what shirt he is going to where, or if he is going to pee in the potty, or if he wants his shoes on or off! I will miss the long bouts of crying fits that Braxton has everyday! i will miss the fact that they both love me so much that they want me to hold them before I leave to go anywhere and love on me so tight that they don't' want to let me go! I will miss the pillow fighting and the jumping on the bed. I will miss the little words that Braxton is picking up and his little baby voice.

You get the picture, I could go on and on, all though it is really hard sometimes,I really do try and take in the moments and store them because I know how fast this time goes! Although sometimes it would be nice for them to be a little more independent sometimes, I don't want to wish away this time I have with them because it is so short lived!

Sawyer getting to be a BIG BOY!

Braxton is really growing up to fast too!

Nothing is better...

...than seeing the 3 boys you love in one place!
....than a daddy's love for his son's.
....than seeing the man you chose to be the father of your children, loving on them, and seeing how "we" have created something so wonderful between us.
...than my husband! I love him! (Although sometimes I could strangle him!)

....than God blessing our family with some wonderful memories and health!

Jackson's Birthday

Easter Sunday was Jackson's offical birthday! But this weekend we celebrated his wonderful first year of life! I forgot my camera like an idiot... so I didn't get any pictures. I could have kicked myself in the rear end but I guess I can blame it on the pregnacy now!

If you don't know Jackson, he is the sweetest little baby in the universe. He is just as content with anything you give him, anywhere you leave him, and he cuddles with you everytime you pick him up! Just a sweet, sweet baby. He even had a cold this weekend and he didn't even hardly whimper all weekend! I have never had a baby that was even remotely that quiet, so I was trying to rub some of his quietness on my belly while we were there... we will see if that works in about 5 months or so.

Anyway, he is now walking... and he looks like a baby Frankenstein wobbling around. I am so happy we could spend the weekend with the Walker's and the Grandparents, it was so much fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

A Mind of His Own...

I remember a few weeks ago when I was talking with Lisa and she said that Parker really was picky over what he wore everyday and it was a stuggle to get him to where anything cute because he picked out his own clothes....

Well, as we were talking I told Lisa that I did not have that problem and that Sawyer didn't care what he wore. The only 2 shirts he really liked was his "Daddy Shirt" (which has Scott's business logo on it) and his "Lighten McQueen" shirt. So that was never a problem because he would wear them and then I would tell him they were being washed so he had to wear something else. Always went smooth.... until.... dun, dun dunnnnn... NOW!

He doesn't want to wear jeans at all, even when I give him a choice of which pair of jeans, he says, "NO JEANS"... he doesn't want to wear Kakhi pants.... he doesn't want to wear his brown pants, or his wind pants.... you get the idea. So basically, he cries like somebody has broken his heart and refuses to put anything on. I guess I am going to have to have him pick out something to wear the night before so we don't go through this EVERY MORNING... a fight between him and I, his eyes swollen from crying, and a very frustrated mother!!! BUT, I guess he is getting a mind of his own and that is a part of growing up!

Easter Sunday

As a tradition, we always go up to Williamston for Easter Sunday. We go to church and then over to his grandmother's house, whom is his last grandparent living, and we eat great food and the kids have an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids have a blast and it is always good to see everyone! It is really neat to see a family always get together for important events like this and I am blessed to be a part of a great thing.

As I was sitting in church, during a long sermon... not the best I had ever heard I promise, I started looking around. There in the church the family took up 2 1/2 rows in the church. All the kids were in the nursery, so that is not including kids... and there are a lot of them! Again, that is amazing when you can get most everyone together like that! It signifies what Easter is all about... GOD, Jesus, and Family!

Some other thoughts that came into my head today were:

1. The Lowe Family is really GROWING! (See picture above!)
2. After seeing a picture of myself for the first time in a long time, I see I am GROWING pretty big also!
3. Patsy and Tommy (Grandma and Grandpa) can hardly handle all four grand kids... see picture below! (That would be my kids not behaving and sending Grandma to the ground! But it made for a cute picture!)
4. Although my kids threw Grandma to the ground, next year they are going to be adding at least one more! Maybe TWO if Brandy gets to work! :-) So Grandma and Grandpa better be ready!!!

5. I remembered how children (aka Reagan and Sawyer) can love each other and be sweet one minute... and the next minute hit and kick and throw the other one's toy/flower on the ground!!! (That would be the series of the next round of pictures... Reagan and Sawyer being sweet to each other.... to Sawyer grabbing Reagan's flower and throwing it on the ground, then Reagan got mad and kicked Sawyer, then Sawyer chased Reagan to hit her back.... it was much better on video, I am sure!) Oh the love to cousins!!!

6. Again, I remembered how blessed I am to have my healthy two boys and my wonderful husband!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter too!!!! If you need Candy, we got plenty... I promise I will give it to you and your kids if you want any!

Easter Egg Hunt

Wednesday I had a day with "just Sawyer". No Braxton!!! Not that I didn't miss Braxton, but he was at Grandma's for a couple of days so I could work since I didn't have anyone to keep him! (thank God for Grandma's) So I named that day, Sawyer/Mommy day. He has not had a day with me, or even a few hours with just me since Braxton has been born, at least that I can remember.

So we started off in the morning eating whatever he wanted to eat... Muffins. He did ask for his spider man snack and I did put my foot down on that one. We did have to go to the doctor for his 2nd Rocephen shot... so that was not fun for him. But he did get 2 suckers and he got me to carry him around everywhere for the rest of the day. We then went to Pizza Hut to eat, because he asked for Pizza. I even offered him some Coke.... which I NEVER do... but he refused and wanted Lemonade! After that we went home to take a nap (me too!) and got up to go to BIG BOY SCHOOL for his Easter party and Easter Egg Hunt!

When we went outside, he was so excited because the Easter Bunny was there too!!! Here is a picture of him seeing the Easter Bunny for the first time! I was happy he was not scared because he was terrified of Santa Clause! He still didn't want to get too close, but he has come a long way since Christmas!

Easter Bunny!!

Looking under a bush for an Easter Egg!!

Inside after the Easter Egg Hunt and saying the blessing. He was the only one saying the blessing... and it sounded something like this:

"God is Great, God is Great, God is Great,
Tank you for our Foooood,
Amen"

This is a picture of him saying "Foooood" in the blessing!

I was so happy that we got to spend a little time together alone...because I don't know when that is going to happen again!

A email from a friend of mine with 3 boys....

My friend Jess has three boys all 2 years apart in age. Beautiful boys, but I know she has her hands full with them because they are so full of energy and curiosity! I hope you enjoy this email she sent because it is so funny and it really put things in perspective with how precious children are to us and GOD!

Life Lessons You Learn From Your Kids….

…If you put the contents of a tissue box in the toilet and flush repeatedly, you will have a bathroom full of water.

…You will not die if you eat cat food or deodorant.

…If you take in a tomato hornworm as a pet, there is a good chance one of your children will eat it.

…If you hit your bathroom wall repeatedly with your elbow because you are so enraged by your child, you may make a very large hole…

…And every time someone comes to your house, your child will dutifully lead them to the bathroom to show them how strong their mom is.

…If your two year old has given up napping, but you try to force him to nap because you have a two week old and you are exhausted, there is a 48% chance he will poop, take off his diaper and smear poop all over himself, the carpet and the walls.

…When he is done doing that he will start driving his cars through the poop.

…If you don’t learn the first time he does this and continue to try to make him nap, there is a 91% chance he will do this again.

…If your playroom doubles as your home office, there is a good chance your kids will rip half the keys off your work laptop-not once, but twice.

…If your mom comes to stay with you and brings her computer, they will probably do it to hers as well.

…If you let your boys pee outside, they will probably feel the freedom to do this whenever they want, wherever they are.

…If you bring your bird’s cage outside to clean it, your two year old very well may open the cage and let the bird out.

…You probably will never see your bird again.

…If your child has REALLY swollen glands, he could have, among other things, Strep throat, Mono, or cat scratch fever.

…It may be that he has ALL three.

…If you can’t find your 1 year old in the house, check the bathroom, where he would most likely be sloshing around in the toilet, or the laundry room where he may have climbed in the dryer.

…If you leave a small child alone watching TV while you jump in the shower, there is a chance he will call 911.

…If you call 911 and you don’t say anything, lets say because you’re too young to talk, they will send an officer to your house.

…If you don’t answer the door because your in your bathroom 7 months pregnant and naked, and your child is running back and forth past the front door saying, “Oh No, Oh No,” the cop may break down the door. (I got there in time)

…If you can’t find the piece that holds your toilet paper on the holder, and you are having toilet trouble, there is a good chance the piece is wedged way down in the toilet and you will need to get a new toilet.

…If you are nine months pregnant and home alone with your 1 and 3 year old, and you decide to take a bath with them, one of them will probably crack their head open.

…You get a little better understanding of our Father’s unconditional love for us

…Of His desire to bless us with good things

…To hold us and comfort us and give us peace that surpasses understanding

…You learn that the joy of the Lord really is your strength.

…Gentleness, Patience, and Self Control are much desired fruits of the spirit

…You learn that children are gifts from God, a treasure.

…You realize that time goes by so quickly and your children change and grow right before your eyes.

…You learn you will make mistakes, you will mess up, but God’s mercies are new every morning.
Treasure your kids today. Slow down. Thank God for them.
From a mother of three boys with love and encouragement

P.S. When you finish an email such as this, you may turn around and find your 3 year old jumping on the trampoline buck naked and your 5 year old jumping off the TV cabinet onto the couch cushions which are all over the floor.
