My little dare devil

Many of you know that Scott is fearless... well, at least one of my kids got that from him! Scary! We got invited to go to Lake Gaston at Angel and Davey's place this weekend and had a blast!!! Sawyer, my just turned 4 year old goes up on the top deck and jumps off without a hesitation!! Then, we go out on the boat.... well, after I had a couple drinks, I agreed to letting him go out wakeboarding. Yep, he jumped at the opportunity and look at that... he is wakeboarding with his fearless daddy! I honestly try and think about what Scott experienced growing up on the river and I know he was skiing at 5 or 6, so I have to let my fear go sometime.... so this weekend was a good time to do so. I got great pictures, and Sawyer (and the other kids) had a blast!!!

But you see what men do to get kisses from pretty girls huh???? I guess it was worth my fear for him to get a kiss from Reese!

Walking BABY

Maci, my sweet baby, is officically walking!!! Yep, she is my walking baby!!! I am excited as much as I am sad... the last time I will see a baby walk for the first time, well at least MY baby. She has been taking steps since she was just barely 8 months old, but she has just a little to much caution in her blood to just take off. Yesterday, 10 months old, she started taking 6 or 7 steps... but today she walked across the whole living room!!! I was clapping and yelling for her, Braxton was getting a little jealous and trying to step in front of her so she couldn't walk but so far and he was running and jumping on me so I would show him some attention. I had to love on him for a little bit so he would let her have some space!!! Just another step in the direction that all my kids are growing up way to fast!

Our "New" Boat

Front and Center... Here is our "NEW" boat! Nope, it doesn't run (doesn' t have a motor), not sure if it floats... but we have a "NEW" boat! If you know Scott, you know that he is very rarely going to buy anything NEW, he is going to buy something and turn it into a big project. This project is to completely remodel this boat so it is totally custom and totally SCOTT LOWE!

What is so neat about this boat is that the boys get to help daddy remodel it, well at least they think they are anyway. Braxton went to town on one screw with the electric screw driver... he kept turning around to me and Grandaddy Joe, saying "I DID IT." Sawyer kept running around with "bits" and dropping them all over the place and Scott couldn't find half his tools, but they were helping!!!

It will be really neat one day when we look back, hopefully riding on this "PROJECT of SCOTT LOWE's" and not sinking.... and seeing how small the kids were and how excited they were to help daddy out with their project! Of course our little princess will be dressed to the nines on the sidelines taking it all in!!!

What do kids worry about?

As we are sitting there everyday what do we as adults worry about? Well let's start with....
1. Something happening to our kids.
2. Being able to pay the bills.
3. Getting our work done on time.
4. Cleaning the house.
5. Going to the grocery store or all the laundry piled up!!!

We dream at night about it, talk in our sleep about it and sometimes can't even sleep because we are so worried about what is going on in our lives.

What do kids worry about??? Well I walked in Sawyer's room tonight to check on him before I go to bed. He was fast a sleep, looking so sweet. I tucked him under his covers, kissed his cheek and started to walk out of the room... until I hear him whimpering....
"Mommy, I don't want my fish." (Fish is his favorite stuffed animal he usually sleeps with).

I thought he was awake and telling me this because I came in the room, but NOPE, he was talking in his sleep! Yep, the things kids worry about and dream about... which stuff animal they are going to sleep with!! OH to be a kid again!!!

Sawyer's BIG Day!!!

Brittany made him cupcakes!!! (and they were good!)

He got pizza for dinner!!! (I was glad he asked for that)
He got presents first thing in the morning!!

He got to play in his new pool we bought him!!!
He got money!!!
Parker came to visit!!!
He got his BIG BOY BIKE!!!

Look how excited he was.... and he rides it like a BMX rider! Things he did: Going down hill on the sidewalk and sliding to the side, sticking his foot out while his training wheel comes off the ground while just missing the side of the truck during the turn, falling off the bike and sliding on his knees after making a turn and grinning after he did it. (Thank God for the helmet and knee pads Jo Jo got him). What am I in for??? Watch out X-Games, here he comes!

Happy Birthday to my oldest son!!!

4 years old already!!! Man how time flies by. I can honestly remember laying on the couch having contractions 4 years ago....and at 2:08 pm (after 15 hours of labor and a kidney stone) I finally became a mother. The most wonderful experience that I had ever experienced in my entire life... creating another life! My first son.

Sawyer has been a lot like my labor to think of it. He is a whirlwind of energy, excitement, and "wonderfulness". (Is that a word?) He has been a pain in my behind sometimes, just like that horrible kidney stone was during labor, but over all the outcome was well worth the pain!

One thing I am not going to be sad of saying goodbye to is "3". 3 has been the worst year so far... at least for Sawyer. It is weird, because about 3 weeks ago there has been a light switch that has gone off in Sawyer head. He has just started behaving more and more loving towards me, Scott and Braxton. He has always been sweet to Maci, but the other people in the house, it was a challenging year. Just the change in him has changed the entire dynamics of this house for the good. Amazing how one little kid can have so much power!

But more importantly, it is his 4th birthday and the kid is so dag on excited he doesn't even know what to do!!! He is one of the most amazing little boys I have ever been around (I know, he is mine and that is why I think that, but that is okay!). Here are some of the reason why we love him so much around here:

He is exciting, full of energy, FULL of questions about everything... and when I mean full of questions, he doesn't just talk anymore, he just ask questions! He is sweet and caring and such a good brother, especially to Maci. He is so protective of her and make sure she isn't doing anything she isn't' suppose to be doing, like eating left over food on the floor, or climbing up the stairs! He plays with his brother like he is his best friend, but fights with him like he his big brother. He is athletic and smart and just absolutely wonderful!!! He is my first born!!!

We love more then you will ever imagine Sawyer Thomas Lowe!!! Happy 4th birthday!

What is Lightening?

I was reading the boys a book tonight about Thunder and Lightening. The question came up..."What is lightening?" So I asked them.

Here are there responses:

Sawyer : "CRACK"
MY HEAD WAS THINKING: "Well, some people on Crack might feel like that... not sure!"
WHAT I SAID: "Chuckle", I guess it could make a cracking noise."
Sawyer: "Fire, mommy, Fire"
WHAT I SAID: "Good job honey, it is a lot like fire in the sky."
Braxton: "Race Car"
WHAT I SAID: "I didn't even think of that Braxton, Lightening McQueen is a race car!"
WHAT I WAS THINKING: "Man, adults have such a one track mind, how neat it is to hear what the kids really think something is!!!"

Quick blog.... got so much to do!!!

happy birthday scott- a little late

The kids went to Walmart and picked out their own presents for Scott. First they wanted to get him a $20.00 Skidsteer in the toy department... I put my foot down on that. I kept asking, are you sure daddy would want that??? Yes, daddy wants that! So I told them we needed to look somewhere else, because I was not going to buy daddy a skidsteer that "they" wanted.

Then we went down the fishing aisle. More like it, $.99 cents fishing lure.... oh yeah, they were excited about that!!! So they both picked out 2 fishing lures that daddy will not ever be able to use, but they were excited about it. Then we went in the back to pick him out a movie... they picked out a cartoon movie at first, but I pointed out AVATAR, and they agreed to that one. They then went by some Corona, and said "DADDY JUICE".... so we purchased that as well. They picked out their own cards, wrote in them, put stickers on them.... put it in the bag at home... gave it to Scott.... and they also unpacked it out of the bag!!!! Scott was excited as you can see from the pictures!!! :-)

To Scott:

Better late then never!!! Happy Birthday Scott!!! I love how you are sweet to our kids and you teach them how to be independent. Me... well I hover, so it is good to have them learn that they don't need someone to look over them every second.

I love how you love me and make me feel beautiful, and you always let me know how good of a job I am doing as a mother (which is the best compliment of all). I love how you are proud of who you are and will never change. I love your morals and your patience. I love how you can be a business man then turn around and be the most caring and loving man.

I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. I am proud of the father you have become and I am so happy that we found each other. I respect you more then you will ever know!!!

Yes, things will never be perfect, and we will continue to fight over stupid stuff, but that makes life interesting!!! I will always love, care and respect you! Happy Late Birthday Scott!

Love Jodi
